Aerospace Staff Engineer


Answer Engineering is looking for Staff Engineers to add to our growing team. We are seeking individuals ready to apply all aspects of their engineering education to tackle the challenges of the aerospace community. Duties include aspects of design, analysis, and testing. Our projects require engineers to utilize a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving. The engineer will be responsible to understand and utilize core engineering principles to provide quick and elegant results directly to customers. At Answer Engineering, you are responsible for your own tasks and set your own schedule to complete those tasks. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is a must!


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination of Design Requirements & Constraints

  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)

  • Structural Design using Metals and Composites

  • Stress Analysis and Finite Element Analysis using Metals and Composites

  • Mechanical Systems Design

  • Electro-Mechanical Systems Design

  • Elementary Aerodynamics & Aircraft Loads

  • Testing & Data Acquisition

  • Writing Technical Engineering Reports

  • Creating and Delivering Presentations to customers

  • Working with a team both onsite and remotely


  • 3.6 Minimum cumulative GPA

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • Moderate travel

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Coursework & Experience:

  • CAD modeling

  • Finite element modeling and analysis

  • Composite materials mechanics

  • Technical writing

  • Demonstrated involvement in hands-on projects (Formula SAE, SAE Heavy Lift, MiniBaja, BotWars, etc.)

  • Prior internships

  • Graduate teacher fellow or student grader/aide

  • Relevant work experience

  • MS or PHD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $80,000 - $130,000
